Community House History
This Craftsman-style structure, designed by A.E. Saunders, was built in 1918 as a gathering place for summer residents. It quickly became known as “Chautauqua’s Living Room” and still has the warmth and intimacy of a historic, private home today. Winterized in the late 1990’s, it is now used year-round for concerts, meetings, lectures, workshops, and classes.
