All of us here at Chautauqua are very excited for the opening of the Chautauqua Café on Sunday, July 3! There will be a ribbon-cutting at noon, followed by refreshments, live music from Mile High Brass Band and activities and free ice cream for kids 12 and under.
The historic Café has been reconstructed in the same location – between the General Store and the Dining Hall – and designed to look just as it did in the early days of the Colorado Chautauqua. The original structure was built in 1899, and served “coffee, short orders and cold meats”. The reconstruction will again function as a covered seating area for the General Store, as well as a great place for public and private events. Once the Café is open, we invite you to grab a sandwich, salad, cold beverage or ice cream from the General Store and enjoy some relaxing patio time in Boulder’s most scenic (and well-shaded!) setting. We can’t wait to see you there!
